Dr. Suresh Gurbani, MD

Suresh Gurbani, MD, PhD is bringing 40 + years of medical experience to PANDA Neurology and Atlanta Headache Specialists when he joins the group in July 2022.

Dr. Gurbani was born and raised in India. After earning Doctor of Medicine degree in 1979 and completing pediatric residency (including as a chief resident during the last year) in 1982, Dr. Gurbani pursued his PhD which he completed in 1991, all at Baroda Medical College and MS University, Baroda, India.

After immigrating to USA in 1992 Dr. Gurbani completed two additional years of pediatric residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS and then went on to complete fellowship in pediatric neurology at University of California at Irvine, CA in 1997. Dr. Gurbani continued there as a full-time faculty member as an assistant clinical professor in Pediatrics/Child Neurology till 2001 and then as a volunteer research faculty member (assistant and then associate clinical professor) till 2017.

While working as a general pediatric neurologist at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California from 2001 to 2021 Dr. Gurbani received many accolades including the Physician of Excellence Award in the field of Child Neurology, Orange County, CA a total of 14 times.

Dr. Gurbani is interested in clinical research in the field of epilepsy with a special focus on childhood absence epilepsy, has published in peer-reviewed journals, and is a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society.

Dr. Gurbani loves providing compassionate care to young pediatric patients and is looking forward to working with their families through PANDA Neurology & Atlanta Headache Specialists Group.
